And, finally, the last use of the scraps I had! I found this small notebook at the supermarket, which was perfect for me to stash with the rest of my sewing notions and jot down ideas and measurements. The cover was OK, but I wanted something fancier. A few days later, I saw another notebook with a cuter cover, but I figured that I could save some cash by making something up. I found this tutorial, and said, “what the heck! I can do that!”. So, here’s my (shoddy) attempt! Now, at least, I won’t have to worry about covers - I can just take off the old notebook, and put a new one there instead :)

Still with some scraps left, I figured I could give a makeover...

Still with some scraps left, I figured I could give a makeover to something I truly love - my Nintendo DS Lite (it’s all about the Pokémans!). I bought this case last year during a sale, and the only color was this male pink. The color didn’t matter much, but I was glad to see I had a chance to make it different! So, I snuck the fabric under the black strips of fabric that hid the seams of the original pattern, and stitched it in place. The original materials were VERY stiff, which may be good for the console, but it nearly killed my poor fingertips!

After finishing my bag, I had a bunch of scraps left over. I LOVED the fabric so much, I wanted to make use of it. I thought about it a while, and of course! Spring’s coming, and I did not have any hat. My mother-in-law had shown me this old cap and asked me if I wanted it, but I’d declined. I took it, stitched some scraps together to make a piece big enough, and then sewn it in place. I love how it looks! Unfortunately I did not notice the pattern was upside down until it was too late - but I say it gives it character!

Some time ago I saw the cutest fabric at the thrift store, which was actually a small pillow sham. I had been meaning to make myself a small purse to carry bags and other stuff while doing shopping, so I bought it for 50 cents. After lots of work and mangled fingers (I don’t have a sewing machine, so it’s all done by hand), it’s finished! I love how it looks :)
